Millie Solley
Care Services Manager
Millie has recently re-joined our team here at Camberley Manor, after leaving previously, to work within another home in our group. She has worked in the care sector for over 40 years, having started work as an activities coordinator in her home country of Scotland. Her career then progressed into working as a care assistant and senior carer in hospitals and care homes.
Millie took a career break after having twins and studied for the Higher Social Care Programme in Edinburgh as a mature student. She was diagnosed with Dyslexia and took part in a programme for those over 40 in education. Ten years ago, Millie moved to England as a team leader and progressed to Care Services Manager and then a home manager.
Millie joined TLC Care in 2017 as Regional Support Manager, before progressing to Learning and Development Coach. We are excited for the year ahead, as she completes and strengthens our management team.
Joanna Gracyzk
Head of Housekeeping
I joined Cuffley Manor in June 2016 when it first opened, with new residents joining. I was able to offer care and housekeeping. This was so important
Seeing residents’ smiles, taking time to sit and talk with them, sometimes, little things are like milestones, seemingly insignificant, but with a huge impact. That’s what working at Cuffley Manor is for me.
In my spare time, I like reading fantasy books, travelling and spending time with my family. I like to learn new skills and always carry a beautiful smile.
Akshay Sanjai Edathottiyil
Business Support Manager
I came to the UK to pursue my master’s. I started working for TLC as a part-time care assistant in 2021. Though I had never worked in the field of care before, my experience at TLC has piqued my curiosity in it. I was formerly employed in Cherry Hinton, but due to commuting issues, I was transferred to Cuffley Manor. I grew close to the Cuffley people, and I eagerly anticipated working alongside my colleagues each day.
My academics required me to participate in an internship program. I received an offer from TLC to work as an administrator and financial assistant for a year at the Carlton Court Care Home. I was given fresh opportunities for learning and growth while I was at Carlton. I would say that Carlton changed the course of my financial career. I was now offered the amazing chance to return to Cuffley Manor in the capacity of Manager of Finance and HR.

What are some signs and symptoms of dementia?
Dementia can come in a variety of different types and combinations. Its first signs can also be difficult to spot, as the symptoms often differ from person to person, making it difficult to pinpoint the exact signs of the disease. However, there are some symptoms commonly indicating early stages of dementia in patients. Such signs usually include memory loss, changes in attention span, and a decline in communication skills.
These issues are often noticed when patients start forgetting the names of family members, getting lost in familiar areas, as well as not being able to complete regular tasks independently. Drastic mood and behaviour changes or even deteriorating use of language and movement are also important indicators of cognitive decline. As previously mentioned, different dementia types manifest through different symptoms from person to person, making it a challenge to spot rarer types of the disease early on.
