Frequently Asked Questions

How to choose between residential care and nursing care?

Nursing care provides 24/7, personalised support from dedicated teams and registered nurses. This makes it the perfect option for residents, who may require extra attention due to physical disabilities or mobility limitations. On the other hand, residential care is a great choice for residents who require less support but desire the safety of a care home setting and constant access to care teams, while being surrounded by a warm community.

What are the benefits of respite care?

Respite care offers many benefits to residents, who are provided with easy and 24/7 access to personal care and any other support they may need. Alongside the convalescent care, residents greatly benefit from meeting new people and participating in exciting activities organised at our Hertfordshire care home. This way we ensure everyone has their health and well-being needs met, while being stimulated and entertained.

Do all dementia patients need 24-hour care?

Although every individual’s case is unique, the majority of older adults living with dementia will eventually rely on around-the-clock specialist dementia care, to ensure their safety and health.

How fast does dementia progress?

There are many different types of dementia and unfortunately, all of them progress, although the timeframe for each of them can differ. It means symptoms can appear relatively mild at first but they get worse with time, usually over a few years. These include problems with memory, thinking, problem-solving or language, and often changes in emotions, perception or behaviour.
