Cooperscroft Care Home, part of the award-winning luxury care home group, TLC Care, is thrilled to announce an extraordinary surprise for one of its cherished residents, Pat. At the remarkable age of 93, Pat had a lifelong dream of revisiting her past as a seamstress at Harvey Nichols.

Pat dedicated her skills to the renowned Harvey Nichols as a talented seamstress. The memories of those days hold a special place in her heart, and she often expressed her desire to return and explore the behind-the-scenes wonders of the iconic establishment.

Pat’s room at Cooperscroft Care Home is adorned with a photograph that she proudly displays.

Cooperscroft Care Home, driven by its commitment to fulfilling residents’ wishes and dreams, reached out to Harvey Nichols with Pat’s wish. The department store graciously responded, agreeing to organise a visit for Pat on Wednesday 24th of May. This exceptional day commenced with an exquisite 5-star dining experience at the elegant 5th-floor restaurant, where Pat was joined by a dedicated team from Harvey Nichols. Over a delightful meal, they shared stories and reminisce about Pat’s invaluable contributions during her time at Harvey Nichols.

Following this extraordinary dining experience, a special tour of the store was arranged for Pat. Guided by the Harvey Nichols team, Pat had the opportunity to revisit familiar areas that evoke cherished memories from her time as a seamstress.

Dawn Cawley, Business Development Manager at Cooperscroft Care Home sat down with Pat to reflect on Pat’s visit.

Dawn asked Pat how she enjoyed her day, Pat said “I had a great day, I am so lucky! I have to say I did not recognise the place. We went through the side entrance it’s the same way I used to go all those years ago. There was the metal gate that used to close the lift and the button was still there.

Dawn then wanted to know what stuck in her mind about her trip to Harvey Nichols “The big mirror going up the stairs, it is the same mirror, and the hotel Mandarin we always saw shenanigans going on there.  I loved the video showing how the place has changed over the years. The meal was out of this world I had fish and chips. I got a goodie bag, a book personalised to me and chocolates, I could go on and on, it was just magical.

During the visit, Pat told the two team members at Harvey Nichols, “I may be forgetful but I will never forget this day”

Dinesh Francis, Home Manager at Cooperscroft said, “Our care home and the entire TLC Care group strive to provide exceptional care and fulfil the dreams of our residents. Making Pat’s long-held wish of visiting Harvey Nichols come true is a testament to our unwavering dedication to enhancing the lives of our residents.”
