We are absolutely delighted to share the exciting news that our very own Chef Jerrin, from Cooperscroft Care Home, has been selected as a finalist for the South East regional cook-off in the prestigious NACC Care Chef of the Year 2025 competition.

The journey to this point has been one of passion, precision and persistence. TLC put out an open invite for our talented chefs to represent the organisation at this prestigious event, and Jerrin’s entry stood out from the very beginning. His beautifully crafted pan-seared salmon medley, paired with a delicious banana cake muffin topped with mascarpone cream, captured the essence of what the competition is all about: care, creativity and culinary excellence.

What makes this recognition even more remarkable is the attention Jerrin paid to every detail of the brief. From nutritional balance to sustainability, seasonal ingredients and budget-conscious choices, he exemplified what it means to be a care chef. The recipes went through several refinements to meet the highest standards and Jerrin approached each change with commitment and dedication.

The regional heat will take place on 25 June 2025 at the University of West London where Jerrin will compete under full competition conditions, just like the national finals. Two chefs from this heat will go on to represent the South East at the National Final on 1 October 2025 at Loughborough College.

We are incredibly proud of Jerrin and can’t wait to see him showcase his skills, creativity and passion for care-focused cooking on a bigger stage. Please join us in congratulating him on this outstanding achievement.

Well done, Jerrin! We wish you the very best of luck for the next stage of the competition. All at TLC are behind you!
