How to choose between residential and nursing care?

Nursing care provides 24/7, personalised support from dedicated teams and registered nurses. This makes it the perfect option for residents, who may require extra attention due to physical disabilities or mobility limitations. On the other hand, residential care is a great choice for residents who require less support but desire the safety of a care home setting and constant access to care teams, while being surrounded by a warm community.

Our sister care home in Hertfordshire, Cuffley Manor, offers high-quality residential care, providing residents with any support they may need, all while welcoming them into the warm TLC Care community.

Benefits of a care home community for the elderly

Joining a care home community can have great benefits for the elderly, who unfortunately often face feelings of loneliness. A strong sense of community enables residents to socialise, share their stories, meet new people and feel seen, all while receiving needed care.

What are the most common types of dementia?

  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Vascular dementia
  • Lewy bodies dementia
  • Frontotemporal dementia
  • Mixed dementia

What causes Alzheimer’s disease?

The causes can include a combination of age-related brain chances, as well as genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. However, the risk of developing Alzheimer’s strongly differs from one person to another.
