The concerns and needs of our residents and their family members are at the centre of everything we do. We cherish the positive comments we receive from them. They provide us with encouragement and confidence to keep striving for the best. Here are a few examples of the many acknowledgements we have received across TLC homes:

Daughter of resident: “My mother has been a resident since May 2016. She now views this as her ‘second home’. She loves her light, roomy, sunny room and loves sitting on her chair on sunny mornings. She describes herself as being looked after well and has developed good relationships with several of the care staff. Although now very frail, her character still shines through and I like the fact that the staff have encouraged her to be her. We were fortunate to get the room when she needed it and was the right place at the right time”

Husband of resident: “We looked at many care homes before choosing Cherry Hinton Care Home and it was far and above the best home, with lots of permanent caring, friendly staff and good home cooked food. My wife is safe to wander as she pleases and has a warm, cosy personalised ensuite room. We would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone else and indeed often do”

Wife of resident: “The staff are pleasant, caring, considerate and medically professional. My job was an assistant manager in a care home so I know what to expect. I cannot praise the home enough. Thank you”

Friend of resident: “My good friend has been a resident of Cherry Hinton Care Home for 2 years. She uses a wheelchair to get around by herself to the conservatory where she meets friends and watches squirrels antics on the bird table which is close by. There is a TV room, a spacious dining room and plenty of bath/toilet facilities. (care workers help residents in these facilities and residents may press the call button which they wear around their neck if they require help). There is usually an organised activity every day (exercises, singing, making decorations). Books, games, newspapers are available. There are comfortable armchairs in the lounge for those who want to watch TV. The hairdresser’s room is just off the lounge and is very popular with lady residents who may have their hair washed and styled once per week. In spring and summer, residents may go out in the garden. There is a summer fete once per year and resident may invite their friends. The resident cat is very popular. Outings by car to the botanic gardens are laid on for residents who are able to go. There is a church service every Sunday, to which residents are invited. 3 meals per day are very good. The home is very well organised and I am happy to provide this review.”

Sister in law of resident: “I have visited residents for many years. Now my sister-in-law is a resident this month 2017. I cannot fault the care home in any way. The facilities are super. The staff are excellent”

“The care given to my husband in the dementia nursing section of Cherry Hinton Nursing Home was exceptional. The staff were kind, caring and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. From his welcome to a lovely room overlooking the sensory garden, to their helpful and frank reports on the telephone and the sensitivity and care and concern for me when he passed away. The manager and her deputy, especially gave both time, compassion and loving care. ”

Jennifer K (Wife of Resident)

“Very welcoming at reception. Everybody who works at the home was amazing, so friendly, helpful and very caring towards the patient. Nothing was too much trouble even the staff who were working about their other business would smile and say hello. This is a wonderful care home and a very clean and comfortable one. I can’t praise it enough. ”

Margaret S (Friend of Resident)

“During the last few days of my wife’s life, the home staff were always there for myself, my wife and for my wife’s daughter and supported us to be with her so she was not alone and were always on hand with tea, sandwiches, kind words and hugs – we cannot thank them enough! ”
